Dan Gallagher is academic director for research and writing services. He manages the Effective Writing Center and LIBS 150, an undergraduate research skills course, and he is involved in efforts to improve students’ information literacy, critical thinking, and written communication skills.
Gallagher came to UMUC in 2010 to direct the Effective Writing Center; he had previously worked in the Writing Center at Temple University, where he also earned his MFA. He has taught a number of classes, including fiction writing. His BA in English is from Ursinus College.
